Hello to All:

Let me start by explaining how honored I am to be elected President of this Organization. I’ve been a member since 1995, served on the Board of Directors for the past 11 years and chaired many committees along the way. I’ve had the opportunity to meet many like minded people over the course of the years, some have moved on to pursue different ventures but many still work with DMS to this day. There have been many changes along the way but for the most part the focus has been the same and that would be to secure the tradition of surf fishing for the generations to come. My family has become very supportive of the DMS and the values that the Club strives to uphold.
I’m extremely excited about the construction of our Youth Membership; this will allow DMS to become a more family oriented Club with special functions and outings geared directly with our next generation in mind. Watch for more information to be posted very soon or contact any Board Member for details.
2008 also promises to be a record-breaking year for our 2nd Annual DMS Invitational Surf-Fishing Tournament. Last years event was a great success and there will be many surprises to be announced this year. The dates are set for October 11-12, 2008, with a guaranteed pay out of $4000 in cash prizes, with a bonus division for the Lady Anglers and a youth division. Make plans to attend now!
DMS has also been very active making sure our beach access remains, as we know it! As many are already aware of the legal battles currently underway concerning OSV access in North Carolina and other beaches along the East Coast we as the Board of Directors are trying to stay ahead of the curve.
